BIOGRAPHICAL SKETCH:
DR LAURENCE JEROME
 
 
Dr. Laurence Jerome is currently a Consultant Psychiatrist to the Amethyst (ADHD) Provincial Demonstration School in London Ontario. He is an Adjunct Professor of Psychiatry at The University of Western Ontario. He is a member of the Consortium for Applied Research and Evaluation of Mental Health (CAREMH), Department of Family Medicine, Population and Community Health Unit, University of Western Ontario. He is a member of the executive and the research sub- committee of the Canadian ADHD Resource Alliance (CADDRA).
 He holds specialist qualifications in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry in the United Kingdom & Canada & is a member of the Canadian Academy of Child & Adolescent Psychiatry& an affiliate member of the American Academy of Child & Adolescent Psychiatry.
His publications include articles on Psychiatric Aspects of Adoption, Body Dysmorphic Disorder, and Epidemiological Studies in Teachers Knowledge of ADHD. His research interests include neurocognitive aspects of information processing and the effects of stimulant medication in ADHD, ADHD through the lifespan, and the effects of stimulant medication on driving style of adults with ADHD. 
He has received a research grant from the Ministry of Transport of Ontario and funding from the Canadian Safety Council Canada and the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health in Toronto for research into predicting risk in novice drivers. He has also received funding from CAREMH for a validation study of the Jerome Driving Questionnaire a screening instrument for evaluating patient driving risk. 
He was the recipient of the 2002 CPA’s Council of Continuing Psychiatric Education prize for the most outstanding community CE activity in psychiatry in Canada for a CBT training course delivered through the medium of Telepsychiatry. In 2008 he  was awarded the COPCE community award for a CE project on “Understanding Pain”.
